What are the class sizes?
Class sizes vary, but most classes are limited to 8-10 students per class. We strive to keep the class size small to make sure teachers can give individual attention to each student.
How are classes divided?
Classes are divided into three levels:
Advanced - Former All-State members or those who have learned both their etudes completely
Intermediate -Students who haven't learned their etudes yet, but are interested in learning the All-State excerpts for auditioning
Beginners - Students who are interested in auditioning for Region only
If you are unsure of which class you should be in, ask your private teacher or orchestra director or contact us on the contact page.
What to expect?
We will have three sessions lasting approximately 80 minutes each. A break of 20 minutes is planned between the two morning sessions. Our afternoon sessions are from 1:00 pm - 3 pm and will feature guests artists performing and teaching. Everyone is required to attend these sessions, although performing for guest artists is by audition only. Please see this link for more info about auditions.
What if I get sick and miss a day?
Unfortunately, unforeseen events happen. We are unable to reimburse you for any missed days since our instructors are hired several months ahead of time.
What shall I prepare for the camp?
Please bring your instrument, a folding music stand, rock stop (cello and bass), pencils, notebook, a copy of the required all-state etudes and orchestral excerpts, and a "ready to learn' attitude!
